What is the CGBP?
The Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) credential issued by NASBITE that confirms knowledge in international trade and assures that employees are able to practice global business at the professional level required in today’s competitive environment.
The CGBP certifies that a candidate is competent in the following four primary domains:
Within each area are the following five "Threads", which cross all four areas listed above:
Within each of these areas and threads, there are tasks and knowledge statements tested through the CGBP exam.
Who is a suitable candidate for the credential?
The CGBP is designed to meet the needs of individuals working in the profession or studying for a career related to global commerce. Candidates from both small and large companies will benefit as will students in two or four year degree programs. The credential is also suitable for individuals working in trade assistance organizations, trade promotion agencies, and related educational institutions.
How can I obtain the CGBP Credential?
To receive the NASBITE CGBP designation a candidate must pass the CGBP exam and have completed either two years of college-level study, or have worked in global commerce for two years.
What is the CGBP exam?
The NASBITE CGBP is a 165 question, multiple choice exam. Only 150 of the 165 question count towards your exam score. Multiple versions of the exam exist. All questions address task and knowledge components found in the CGBP Practice Delineation. The time allowed to take the exam is three hours, though candidates should plan on spending 3.5 to 4 hours at the test center.
How can I prepare for the exam?
This two day workshop being offered by East Michigan DEC and the MIchigan State University International Business Center covers all the critical content areas and topics of the exam. Please note that the workshop fees do not include registration in the exam itself.
